Clearance Consignment Sale: $4,900.00. Was $6500.

This long 29.25" katana was made by Bizen-no-kuni Masashiro (Kawashima Ichijyo). Masashiro was born in 1970 and has won a number of awards at the annual NBTHK shinsakuto exhibitions. The sword was purchased in Japan and used extensively for martial arts training and cutting practice. The sword has even, moderate sori and is a wonderful example of the Bizen style. Itame hada with a big choji hamon.

The blade was bent slightly once, but was easily straightened. There is evidence of the bend visible in the surface of the steel pictured below. These would come out easily in a new polish.

As the blade was extensively used you can see the normal scuffing associated with tameshigiri practice. The edge is sharp and consistent.

The fittings and mount are honest, Japanese made mounts. The single piece habaki is made of silver.

The tsuka was recently rewrapped in new brown silk tsukaito.

Limited Clearance Sale Price: $4900.00. Was $6500.
